Private DOg Lessons

Private lessons are one-on-one training sessions with Carol Lofquist, designed to give you and your dog personalized attention. Each session is tailored to your dog’s needs, your family’s lifestyle, and your training goals.  Lessons can take place in your home or a public setting such as a park.

Private lessons are a great option if you:

• Prefer focused, distraction-free learning.

• Have a busy schedule and need flexible appointment times.

• Want a training plan designed just for your dog.

• Are working on specific challenges like jumping, leash pulling, or listening at home.

Carol has more than 25 years of experience helping Northwoods families train their dogs. She can help with everything from puppy basics (house training, manners) to adult dog challenges (barking, pulling, coming when called). She also works with families who want to go beyond the basics into advanced skills or fun activities like Canine Agility or Rally Obedience.

Most private lessons run about 45 – 60 minutes. Carol adjusts the pace depending on your dog’s energy and attention span.

That depends on your goals. Some families schedule a short series of three lessons to work on a specific issue, while others enjoy ongoing coaching as their dog grows and learns. Carol will help you decide on the best plan.

Yes! Carol uses reward-based training that builds trust and strengthens the bond between you and your dog. The goal is to teach skills in a way that feels clear, kind, and effective.

Absolutely. Since your dog will spend most of their time with you – not just the trainer – Carol encourages the whole family to participate. She’ll show you how to practice at home so the training really sticks.
